Link: Gen Z’s love-hate relationship with AI

Gen Z's enthusiasm for AI is waning, according to a recent Gallup report, although they continue to use the technology. The study, which surveyed nearly 1,600 young people in the US, showed a significant drop in positive sentiment towards AI compared to last year.

Feelings of anger and resentment towards AI are on the rise among Gen Z, with 31 percent expressing anger, up from 22 percent. Meanwhile, anxiety levels about AI remain high at around 40 percent.

Many Gen Z workers now believe the risks of using AI in the workplace outweigh the benefits, a considerable increase from last year. Despite this, a majority still acknowledge that AI can help complete tasks more quickly.

However, there is concern that relying on AI could hinder learning in the long term. About 80 percent of Gen Z-ers worry that faster work through AI will make learning more difficult.

Usage of AI among Gen Z has slightly increased, with over half using it at least weekly. Around half also believe AI will be necessary for higher education or future careers.

As AI technology matures, Gen Z is becoming more skeptical about its long-term impact on skills, trust, and career readiness. This reconsideration comes amidst a tough job market and ongoing educational challenges. #
