Link: Chrome now lets you turn AI prompts into repeatable ‘Skills’
Google introduces a new Chrome feature that enables users to save and reuse their favorite Gemini commands as "Skills." This enhancement allows the application of these commands across multiple tabs with just one click.
Chrome product manager Hafsah Ismail explains that this update eliminates the need to repeatedly type or copy the same AI prompts when browsing different pages. Users can create and manage these Skills in the Chrome desktop browser by utilizing the Gemini interface.
Starting today, this functionality is available to Chrome users who have set their language preference to US English. Skills can be added directly from the Gemini chat history and are accessible on any desktop device logged into the same Google account.
This feature is designed to streamline tasks that users frequently perform in Chrome, such as calculating nutritional information from online recipes or comparing product specifications while shopping. Google aims to make web browsing more efficient and tailored to individual needs.
A library of preset Skills is also being launched, offering users a base that they can customize. This serves as a simpler alternative for users who prefer not to create their own Skills from scratch.
To stay updated on similar features, users can follow related topics and authors to receive news tailored to their interests directly on their homepage feed or via email updates. #
