Nvidia and AMD have agreed to give the US - 15 percent of their chip sales revenues in China to get export licenses. This arrangement came after a deal with the Trump administration.

The Financial Times noted that the deal was fixed days after Nvidia CEO met President Trump, and following their agreement, export licenses for chips began to be issued.

Experts in export control describe this revenue-sharing deal as unprecedented since no other US company has previously paid to obtain export licenses.

The H20 chips tailored for China drew security concerns, and US experts fear they might enhance Chinese military capabilities and affect US dominance in AI technology.

"Beijing must be gloating to see Washington turn export licenses into revenue streams," remarked Liza Tobin, a China expert from the Jamestown Foundation.

As the H20 deal stirs controversy, both the US and China continue trade talks, with Trump hinting at a potential summit with China's President Xi Jinping, while also facing pressure to not relax export controls that boost China's AI capabilities. #
