Link: ISS astronauts are getting new laptops
The astronauts aboard the ISS are upgrading their laptops to HP ZBook Fury G9 models, customized specifically for space use. These laptops include powerful specs like an Intel Core Ultra 9 vPro HX processor and Nvidia RTX Pro Blackwell GPU.
To suit the ISS's unique power requirements, the laptops come equipped with a custom NASA-exclusive AC/DC adapter.
This upgrade from the older HP ZBook Fury G2 laptops involves more than 100 HP workstations currently in use on the ISS.
According to NASA, this third generation of HP computing platforms on the ISS may be among the final upgrades, as the station is scheduled for de-orbit in 2030.
The process began with the first batch of new laptops launched in October 2025.
Astronaut Chris Williams recently unpacked these new pieces of equipment on the ISS, showcasing the ongoing enhancement of technology in space. #
