Link: Blue Origin successfully reused its New Glenn rocket

Today’s launch of AST SpaceMobile's BlueBird 7 satellite was only partially successful. While Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket landed successfully, marking a milestone for reusable launch technology, the satellite it carried did not fare as well.

The mission's main objective, to deploy a space-based cell tower, was compromised due to an error in the rocket's second stage. This resulted in the satellite being placed in a lower than planned orbit.

AST SpaceMobile announced that although the satellite separated correctly and was operational, its current altitude was too low for the intended functions. As a result, it will be de-orbited.

Blue Origin's achievement of landing its New Glenn rocket safely was overshadowed by the failure to deliver the satellite as intended. Jeff Bezos shared a video of the landing but did not comment on the mission’s partial failure.

Future updates and implications of this launch will be observed closely. This event underscores the complexities and challenges in space missions, even with advanced technologies and experienced players.
