According to a recent Jiji survey in Japan, one in four people believe advanced AI will eventually replace their friends and family. The sentiment was notably higher among younger adults, with over 30% of those aged 18 to 59 expressing this belief.

Although 65.1% of participants disagreed that AI could replace human connections, the idea gained traction among certain age groups. Among those aged between 18 and 29, the proportion who believed in AI replacing human roles was substantially higher.

The survey also highlighted the current usage of generative AI technologies. About 30.8% of all respondents currently use AI tools like ChatGPT.

This usage was most prevalent among the younger demographics, peaking at over 50% in people aged from 18 to 39. Older age groups showed progressively less engagement, with only 21.9% of those in their 60s using such technologies.

When asked about the applications of generative AI, the majority indicated its use in professional environments. Additionally, other popular uses included assistance with household chores and accessing information on current affairs.

A smaller subset of users leveraged AI for personal interaction, discussing topics like music or using it to verbalize personal concerns. The findings stem from a structured poll involving 2,000 participants, capturing a snapshot of public opinion and AI's integration into daily life. #
