Link: TikTok is now letting everyone DM each other with voice memos and pictures
TikTok is updating its direct messaging features to include voice messages, image sharing, and the ability to send videos up to one minute long. This expansion aligns with the platform's goal to enhance user interaction.
These new features will roll out over the next few weeks but will only be available to users who are 16 years of age or older. TikTok aims to keep its communication tools appropriate for its user base.
For users eligible to use the DM features, note a caution in voice message functionality: the recording sends immediately upon releasing the microphone button. To cancel a voice message before sending, users must drag the button up or left.
There’s a limit of sending no more than nine images or videos at a time, and like voice messages, videos are also capped at one minute. This keeps exchanges quick and manageable within the platform.
These updates by TikTok indicate its commitment to staying competitive with other social platforms that heavily invest in communication tools. It underscores TikTok’s effort to remain an integral part of social media conversation and user interaction.
By continuously updating these features, TikTok ensures it meets the evolving needs and safety standards of its community. #
