Link: This startup brought WALL-E to life and will also sell you WALL-E’s weird cousin
Zeroth is introducing the W1 robot, a real-life version of WALL-E, in the US priced at $5,599. Unlike its Disney counterpart, the W1 does not sport the yellow color or humanlike eyes but maintains the iconic dual-tread design.
The W1, designed for home use or light tasks, can carry items, follow its owner, host games, and take photos with a 13-megapixel camera. It can carry up to 110 pounds and maneuver over various surfaces using lidar and sensors.
Zeroth also reveals a smaller humanoid robot, the M1, which stands 15 inches tall and is priced at $2,899. This robot serves as a companion at home, using Google’s Gemini AI for conversation, offering reminders, and monitoring for falls.
The M1 can navigate both desktops and floors, self-recover from falls, and returns to its dock for recharging after two hours of activity. It promises to enhance in-home care and interaction.
Both the W1 and M1 robots will be open for preorders in the US within the first quarter of the year. These innovations mark significant steps in personal robotic assistance and interactive technology availability.
Zeroth aims to blend familiar robotic aesthetics with advanced functionality, offering consumers new ways to interact with smart technology at home. #
