Link: Samsung’s new app claims to alleviate motion sickness using sound

Samsung has launched a new app named Hearapy, designed to alleviate motion sickness through sound. It is now available for Android users on the Google Play store.

The app plays a 100Hz sine wave tone for 60 seconds, targeting the vestibular system which helps with balance and orientation.

This exposure to the tone reportedly offers up to two hours of relief from symptoms such as nausea.

Adjustments can be made within the app to listen to the tone for 40 to 120 seconds depending on the user's preference.

Although effectiveness can vary based on the headphones used, Samsung recommends using Galaxy Buds 4 Pro for optimal results.

Hearapy's development was influenced by a study from Nagoya University, which found certain sound wavelengths could reduce discomfort and staggering for passengers reading in moving vehicles. #
