Link: Nintendo Switch prices are going up after this weekend
Nintendo is raising the price of its original Switch family of systems and products. This includes the first-generation Nintendo Switch, Switch OLED, Switch Lite, and select accessories.
While exact new prices haven't been confirmed by Nintendo, Target listings suggest significant increases. For instance, the original Switch may now be priced at $339.99, indicating a $40 hike.
The Switch OLED price appears to be set at $399.99, which is $50 more than before. Simultaneously, the Switch Lite is seeing a $30 increase to $229.99.
Beyond consoles, Nintendo is also adjusting prices for some Switch 2 accessories, amiibo figures, and the Alarmo device. However, the prices for Switch and Switch 2 games will remain unchanged.
These changes follow a recent switch price increase in Canada and occur amidst new tariffs introduced by President Donald Trump. Nintendo had previously moved most production to Vietnam to evade tariffs, but the new policies will also affect goods imported from there.
