Link: Microsoft locks down a building after protesters get inside president’s office

Protesters infiltrated a Microsoft building, demanding the company sever ties with the Israeli government. They staged a sit-in at President Brad Smith's office, livestreaming the event.

During the protest, slogans like "Brad Smith you can’t hide, you’re supporting genocide!" were shouted. Noisemakers were attached to balloons, adding to the disruption.

Microsoft employees and several former workers participated in this protest. Just a week prior, a similar protest led to the arrest of an employee and former colleagues.

This event follows a series of protests by the No Azure for Apartheid group against Microsoft's cloud contracts. The group has been vocal at several company events throughout the year.

An investigation revealed Microsoft's cloud services are used extensively by the Israeli government. Microsoft, however, has not commented on this particular protest.

We’ve reached out to Microsoft for comment on this latest protest inside the company’s own offices, but the company didn’t respond in time for publication. #
