Link: Meta’s Hyperscape is ready to turn your real living room into a VR hangout
Meta introduces the ability to share photorealistic digital replicas of real places through their "Hyperscape" technology. Utilizing the cameras on their Quest 3 or Quest 3S VR headsets, users can now invite others to explore these spaces together.
Up to eight users can join a virtual space at once, with plans to increase this number in the future. Additional enhancements include on-device rendering and audio in Hyperscape worlds.
However, the rollout of this feature will be gradual. Meta asks users to be patient as the feature becomes available to all over the next few months.
This feature aligns with Meta's vision for the metaverse, blending digital replicas with interactive games. Hyperscape aims to enrich experiences by connecting users in realistic settings with friends and family.
The potential of these spaces was clearly evident in my own experience with the Hyperscape Capture app earlier this year. The realism and detail in the digital replicas were truly impressive.
For a closer look at what these spaces offer, there is a demonstration available on YouTube that showcases the quality of these environments. #
