Link: London targets noisy commuters with headphone campaign

London's public transport authority has launched a poster campaign urging passengers to use headphones while using their phones. This initiative aims to reduce noise disturbances such as loud music and phone calls which affect other commuters.

Transport for London's (TfL) new "Headphones On" campaign addresses the increased availability of data coverage on the underground, encouraging considerate behavior.

Currently displayed on the Elizabeth line, these posters will soon appear across other TfL services including buses, trams, and the London Overground starting October.

Research by TfL found that 70% of the surveyed 1,000 passengers experienced disruptions due to others playing loud music or making calls.

Deputy transport mayor Seb Dance emphasized that while most Londoners are considerate, the few who aren't can significantly disturb others' journeys.

This campaign builds on the earlier "#TravelKind campaign" which promoted smoother and more considerate travel behaviors among public transport users. #
