Link: Lamborghini’s new plug-in hybrid is the fastest car its ever built
Lamborghini's new Fenomeno plug-in hypercar, unveiled at Monterey Car Week, is claimed to be the most powerful and fastest version yet. Priced at a hefty $3.5 million, it joins the exclusive "Few Off" collection alongside models like the Sián and Countach.
The Fenomeno boasts a combined power output of 1,080cv from its V12 engine and three electric motors, surpassing the Revuelto by 65cv. This impressive performance enables it to sprint from zero to 100 kph in just 2.4 seconds.
With a top speed exceeding 350 kph, the hypercar features a groundbreaking power-to-weight ratio of 1.64kg/cv, the best in Lamborghini's 62-year history. The new 7kWh battery pack, an upgrade from the Revuelto's 3.8kWh, provides a limited electric-only range of 20 km.
Its design includes a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and large air intakes from the Huracán GT3 race car, complemented by a "long tail" silhouette. Lamborghini's traditional naming convention continues with "Fenomeno," referring to a renowned bull that exemplified outstanding qualities.
Only 29 units of the Fenomeno will be produced, plus one for Lamborghini’s own collection. This model not only serves as a high-performance vehicle but also as a "design manifesto" for future Lamborghinis, hinting at an eventual shift towards electrification.
While a fully electric model is anticipated before the decade's end, current plans including a delayed all-electric Urus suggest that Lamborghini is cautiously advancing its electric lineup. In the interim, models like the Fenomeno showcase Lamborghini's commitment to blending traditional power with new technologies.#
