Link: HoverAir’s new floating Aqua drone can take off and land on water
Zero Zero Robotics has launched the HoverAir Aqua, a new drone equipped with advanced video capabilities and complete waterproofing. It uniquely features an IP67 rating, allowing it to float, take off, and land on water, catering especially to filming water-based activities.
The drone is available for preorder via an Indiegogo campaign, starting at $999.
This marks it as the company's priciest offering yet, compared to its predecessors like the 2.7K-capable HoverAir X1 launched at $349.
The HoverAir Aqua captures up to 4K/100fps slow-motion video through a 1/1.3-inch sensor and includes a hydrophobic self-heating lens to clear water droplets.
A novel feature is the wireless 'Lighthouse' accessory, enhancing the drone's tracking and control capabilities when taking off from water.
The Aqua supports up to 15 autonomous flight modes, can operate in nearly 40mph winds, and offers an estimated 23 minutes of flight time per charge.
Additional features include a Virtual Tether for automatic retrieval and a built-in 1.6-inch AMOLED screen for on-the-spot video management.
Under 249 grams, the Aqua does not require registration with aviation authorities and can autonomously right itself if capsized in water.
