Initially, I thought the $99 Google Fitbit Air was just another Whoop copy. However, after attending a press briefing, my views shifted.

Though similar in design to other fitness trackers, the Fitbit Air resembles early Fitbit models more than anything else.

Google's VP of Health and Home, Rishi Chandra, explains that the Air is designed for simplicity and accessibility, targeting users who prefer straightforward wearables.

Not merely a nostalgic throwback, the Fitbit Air is compact, uncomplicated, and pairs with the Google Health app following Fitbit's integration into Google’s ecosystem.

The rebranded Google Health Premium and a new AI-powered Health Coach are part of Google's strategy to streamline health tracking across devices. Despite the innovation, some users remain skeptical about data privacy and the effectiveness of AI coaches.
