Link: Google’s Pixel 11 series pairs a little new hardware with a lot of new software

The new Pixel 11 lineup has been officially announced by Google, featuring the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. All models will be available next week, and Google aims to showcase these devices at an event on August 12th.

All models in the Pixel 11 series are $100 more expensive than their predecessors, with the base model starting at $899 for a 256GB version. This increase is partly due to the elimination of the 128GB option and the ongoing global RAM shortage affecting costs.

The design refinements include a thinner camera bar now made entirely of glass and the addition of a HiLight ambient LED on the Pro models. The hardware focuses on subtle enhancements that improve the aesthetic and usability of the phones.

Camera capabilities have been significantly improved, with the Pixel 11 featuring a 48MP wide camera that claims to offer 56% more light gathering, and a telephoto lens with up to 30x digital zoom. These upgrades are supported by the new Tensor G6 chip, which also contributes to a longer battery life of over 30 hours.

A standout feature in the camera software is the new Camera Looks, which processes photos at the sensor level, offering customizable presets that simulate different photographic styles. These adjustments aim to deliver images that are more true-to-life without excessive digital enhancements.

For content creators, Google introduces the Creator Suite tool in the camera app, offering features like a framing guide, speech enhancement, and more. The phones now support faster wireless charging and come in various new colors, with the Pro models boasting up to 3,600 nits of display brightness. #
