Link: Google will now let everyone use its AI-powered video editor Vids

Google is making the basic version of its AI-powered video editor, Vids, available to everyone. Previously, it was exclusive to Google Workspace or AI plan subscribers.

Vids was launched last year as part of the Google Workspace suite, designed to assist in creating video presentations using AI tools. It includes a feature for storyboarding with suggested scenes and background music.

Though the free version includes most of the app's existing capabilities, it lacks the latest AI features, such as the new AI-generated avatars. These avatars can be scripted to deliver messages in various voices and appearances.

Google continues to enhance Vids by enabling the creation of 8-second videos that can showcase specific images, like a new product. There's also a new feature that eliminates pauses and filler words from personal video recordings.

This update aims to help companies reduce the time and expense involved in producing videos like product demos or training sessions. According to Google, Vids helps businesses scale their video production significantly.

While some advanced features remain limited, the expansion of Vids’ availability and capabilities could have widespread impacts on business video production. #
