Link: Boost your AirTag’s battery life to five years with this waterproof case
Elevation Lab has introduced a new, smaller version of its TimeCapsule case for the Apple AirTag, enhancing its longevity. This compact model is about half the size of the original and swaps out AA batteries for AAA ones, extending the AirTag's battery life to five years.
The redesigned TimeCapsule maintains the IP69 rating, ensuring it remains protected against water and dirt. It is constructed from fiber reinforced polycarbonate, which doesn’t interfere with Bluetooth or UWB signals.
Though more compact, this version does make the AirTag heavier at 1.9 ounces with batteries, compared to just .39 ounces for the AirTag alone. Additionally, the case’s design may slightly muffle the AirTag's audible chirps.
Elevation Lab recommends utilizing Energizer Ultimate Lithium AAA batteries to maximize efficiency and prevent leaks over the extended period of non-use.
The new TimeCapsule is currently available for purchase on the company's website and Amazon, priced at $19.99. A promotional discount reduces the price to $39.99 for a four-pack.
This investment could be particularly appealing to those wanting to leverage extended battery life without frequent replacements, especially in settings where long-term tracking is imperative. #
