Link: Apple’s plan for AI could make Siri the animated center of your smart home
Apple is reportedly advancing its AI vision by developing new products, including robots and a smart home display. Among these is a tabletop robot, described by Bloomberg as similar to an iPad attached to a moving arm.
Apple's innovations suggest a renewed focus on the smart home market; the company is particularly enhancing Siri into a more visual and conversational interface. Siri's transformation will utilize large language models, akin to ChatGPT’s voice mode.
Another significant leap is an Apple smart home display, set to launch by mid-next year, which will integrate this revamped Siri and support various home automation tasks. The device is said to resemble Google's Nest Hub but will feature a square design.
This display, along with the tabletop robot, could operate under a new OS that personalizes interactions by recognizing users' faces.
Further extending its product line, Apple is also purportedly developing a security camera and multiple home-security products.
These initiatives mark Apple's commitment to integrating more sophisticated AI across its device ecosystem, positioning the company to compete more aggressively in the smart home domain. #
