Link: Anker’s new AI voice recorder is the size of a coin

Anker has introduced the Soundcore Work, an AI-powered voice recorder that transcribes, summarizes, and highlights key conversation moments. This innovative gadget is notably smaller than similar devices, fitting easily into a coin-sized form factor.

Set to launch in September with broader availability projected later, the Soundcore Work is extremely compact, measuring only 0.91 inches. Despite its small size, it packs up to eight hours of battery life and a proprietary charger for extended use.

It’s priced at $99.99 with basic functionality, and Anker offers an additional subscription at $15.99 monthly for premium features. The device can be worn on a lanyard or clipped onto clothing, making it discreet and convenient for everyday use.

The recorder uses advanced AI, specifically GPT-4.1 or GPT-5.0, to accurately transcribe conversations in over 100 languages. Notably, it only records audio when activated by a tap, adding privacy and control for users.

Recordings and transcriptions are managed via the Soundcore mobile app, where files can be searched or exported. For security, the audio files are encrypted and temporarily stored in the cloud during transcription, then deleted.

Anker corrected their initial statement, noting that audio recordings are sent to the cloud for transcription and temporarily when being shared. This maintains data privacy while enabling easy access and sharing options for users.
