Link: Amazon now sells used Hertz rental cars
Hertz has started selling its used rental cars on Amazon Autos, initially available in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, and Seattle with plans to expand. The vehicles can be shopped online and picked up at local Hertz Car Sales locations within three days.
This move marks the integration of Hertz's pre-owned vehicles into the broader scope of offerings on Amazon’s platform. Customers living within 75 miles of the launch cities can access the service as early as Wednesday.
Amazon Autos, launched in December of the last year, expanded from showcasing to selling vehicles, initially featuring Hyundai cars. This development allowed customers to buy cars directly through Amazon for the first time.
Hertz is the first rental fleet to partner with Amazon Autos, offering various brands like Ford, Toyota, Chevrolet, and Nissan. This partnership differs from Amazon's earlier arrangements limited only to new and certified pre-owned Hyundais.
Customers can now enjoy the convenience of comparing and purchasing Hertz's well-maintained used vehicles through Amazon. This venture promises easier access to a broader vehicle selection.
This initiative is set to reach 45 locations across the US, aligning more closely with Amazon Autos' current spread, broadening the availability of purchase-ready vehicles online. #
